Successful Repetition

Practice makes perfect, yes. But one has to be selective about what should be repeated in order to reach perfection.

Regurgitating endless grammar exercises may allow you to get good grades on tests and understanding language when it's presented to you in a written form. Unfortunately, those skills do not translate into a speaking ability.

It's similar to someone trying to learn to ride a bicycle by studying intently how others ride bicycles. Until you get on that bike and fall a few times, you will continue to be afraid of even trying.

The same goes for learning a new language: in order to develop a speaking ability, you need to practice speaking! Watch this testimonial from one of our students, who has spent many years using different apps and other private classes, and who felt she was always making the same mistakes... until she started studying with Overcome the Barrier.
